Jennifer, I hope you get it back. Maybe, on a lunch break or for a block of time on the weekends, carve out some creative sanity time for yourself. I recently put it on my calendar. Every other Saturday is my designated writing day. Of course, I have to make sure I honor it. I’ve blown off the last two because I had client work to do. *sigh* Always a battle. Keep fighting the good fight and I will too. =)

4 months into sick leave and I realised that my creative muse had gone walkabout. 2 months, 2 cardigans, a finished tapestry, some beaded Christmas decorations and a few new recipes, she’s back. A different type of creativity maybe, but how sorely missed!

Annette, there is so much in this post that resonates with me it’s scary. Up until 8 years ago, I was a SAHM doing a lot of crafting, then my husband lost his job and I went back into the job market doing administrative work. Somewhere along the way my creative muse got tired of waiting for me and got up and left. She didn’t leave a forwarding address. That’s the scariest part of all.

Use it or lose it, indeed.

Good points! I’m glad I’m not the only one who is still sitting at the computer, hair a mess, and yet to see a shower when her husband comes home!
